How to Destroy Your Enemy Without Fighting

A message inspired by the teachings of David Oyedepo

Introduction:

Praise the Lord! It is a great joy to stand before you today and share the powerful message of God's Word. We serve a mighty God who has given us all the tools we need to overcome every challenge and adversary in our lives. The world may teach us to fight and struggle in our own strength, but the Word of God teaches us a different way—a way of victory without battle. As Bishop David Oyedepo often reminds us, "Victory is not about fighting but about positioning yourself in the will of God."

Today, I want to share with you the biblical truth on How to Destroy Your Enemy Without Fighting. This is not a message about physical confrontation, but about how we can experience victory through spiritual authority and divine intervention. God has equipped us with everything we need to triumph over the forces of darkness without lifting a finger. Let us delve into the Word of God and discover how we can destroy our enemies without fighting.

  1. Understanding the Nature of Our Enemies

The first step to defeating our enemies without fighting is understanding who our enemies truly are. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:12 that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places.

Bishop David Oyedepo teaches us that many times, we make the mistake of fighting people instead of confronting the real enemy, which is the devil and his agents. Our enemies are not the people who oppose us, but the spiritual forces that seek to destroy our lives, our businesses, and our destinies. Therefore, to destroy our enemies without fighting, we must shift our focus from people to the spiritual forces behind their actions.

In 2 Corinthians 10:4, the Bible reminds us, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.” This means that the fight is not physical; it is spiritual. Our real enemy is the devil, and our victory lies in spiritual weapons that God has given us.

  1. The Power of Prayer and Fasting

Bishop Oyedepo has always emphasized the power of prayer and fasting in overcoming the enemy. In Matthew 17:21, Jesus told His disciples, “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

When we face adversaries—whether they are spiritual forces, financial struggles, or relational issues—we must understand that prayer and fasting are powerful tools that destroy the work of the enemy. Prayer connects us to God, and fasting strengthens our spiritual resolve, helping us overcome the forces that are working against us.

In Isaiah 58:6, the Lord declares, “Is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?” When we engage in prayer and fasting, we align ourselves with God's will, and we activate His power to break every chain, destroy every yoke, and bring freedom to our lives.

  1. The Power of the Word of God

One of the greatest weapons in destroying the enemy without fighting is the Word of God. Bishop Oyedepo often says, “The Word of God is a sword that cuts through every lie of the enemy.” In Hebrews 4:12, we are told, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

When you speak the Word of God, you are engaging in spiritual warfare. The Bible tells us in James 4:7 that “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” By speaking the Word of God over our situations, we resist the devil and his attacks. We are declaring that God’s Word is final and that His promises are greater than any opposition.

When Jesus was tempted by the devil in the wilderness, He didn’t engage in a physical fight. Instead, He quoted Scripture: “It is written…” (Matthew 4:4). He demonstrated the power of God’s Word to silence the enemy. This same power is available to us today.

  1. The Power of Praise and Worship

Another powerful weapon to destroy your enemy without fighting is praise and worship. Bishop Oyedepo teaches that “Praise is a spiritual weapon of mass destruction.” In 2 Chronicles 20:22, when King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah were faced with a vast army, they didn’t fight. Instead, they sent the worshippers ahead of the army, and as they praised God, the Lord set ambushes against their enemies. The enemies were defeated without a single sword being drawn.

When we praise God, we invite His presence into our situations, and He fights for us. In Psalm 149:6-9, the Bible says, “Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; to execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.”

Praise brings victory. It confuses the enemy, disarms them, and brings the presence of God into our battles. When you choose to praise God, you destroy your enemies without ever having to engage in a physical fight.

  1. The Power of Faith and Confession

In Mark 11:23-24, Jesus teaches us the power of faith and confession. He says, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”

Bishop Oyedepo emphasizes that faith is the key to victory. We must speak to our mountains and declare the promises of God over our lives. Faith is not passive; it is active and speaks the Word of God into every situation. When we confess God's Word in faith, we activate His power to destroy the enemy’s plans.

In Romans 10:10, the Bible tells us, “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Your confession is powerful—it releases God's power into your situation. Speak the Word of God, declare His promises, and watch the enemy flee.

  1. The Power of the Blood of Jesus

One of the most powerful ways to destroy your enemy without fighting is through the blood of Jesus. Bishop Oyedepo often speaks about the power of the blood to break the hold of the enemy over our lives. In Revelation 12:11, the Bible says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

The blood of Jesus is the ultimate weapon of victory. It cleanses, it protects, and it empowers us to overcome the enemy. When you plead the blood of Jesus over your life, your family, and your business, you are placing a divine hedge of protection around yourself, and the enemy cannot touch you.

  1. A Call to Repentance and Restoration

If you have been fighting your battles in your own strength, if you have allowed the enemy to torment you, today is the day to turn to God and surrender. Bishop Oyedepo teaches that repentance is key to accessing God’s victory. In 1 John 1:9, the Bible tells us, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

It’s time to repent, to turn away from self-reliance and turn to God for your victory. He is faithful to restore you, to give you a fresh start, and to empower you to destroy your enemies without fighting.

Conclusion:

As we conclude today’s message, remember this: you do not need to fight in your own strength. The victory has already been won by Jesus Christ on the cross. When you engage in prayer, fasting, the Word of God, praise, faith, and the blood of Jesus, you destroy the enemy without lifting a finger.

Take action today. Repent of relying on your own strength, and align your life with God’s Word. Position yourself in the place of victory, and watch as God destroys your enemies without you ever having to fight.

Let us pray: “Lord, we thank You for the victory that You have already given us. We surrender our battles to You, and we trust that You will fight for us. We plead the blood of Jesus over our lives, and we declare that we are victorious. We repent of any reliance on our own strength and commit ourselves to Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Go forth in the power of God, and may He give you victory in every area of your life! God bless you.
